William Fox

Born 1 January 1879 in Tolcsva, Austria-Hungary, as Wilhelm Fried Fuchs.
Died 8 May 1952 in New York, New York, USA.

Married Eva Leo in 1899; two daughters.

William Fox purchased his first nickelodeon New York, New York, in 1904, which led to the acquisition of other motion picture theatres in New York and New Jersey. Fox began distributing films by other producers through his Box Office Attractions Company in [?] 1912? and soon after began producing his own motion pictures through his William Fox Vaudeville Company.

Fox’s motion picture production and distribution interests were reorganized into the Fox Film Corporation in 1915.
