Died 7 January 1932 in Hollywood, California, USA, of pneumonia.

Daughter of Frank A. McCormick and Lucy Kirk.

Joy Auburn (Alice McCormick) was raised in Omaha, Nebraska, where she won a beauty contest. She moved to New York, where she eventually appeared in Ziegfeld, Gus Edwards and Shubert stage productions. Despite modern attributions that she is mistaken for another actress Alice McCormick, there appears to be no evidence supporting the claim. Alice changed her professional name in 1928 after having been named a respondent in a Florenz Ziegfeld divorce case. Joy Auburn appeared in productions by Goodwill Comedies, Incorporated (1928).
