Noah Beery Jr.

Born 10 August 1913 in New York, New York, USA, as Noah Lindsey Beery Jr.
Died 1 November 1994 in Tehachapi, California, USA, of a cerebral thrombosis.

Son of actor Noah Beery.
Nephew of actor Wallace Beery.

Married Maxine Evelyn Jones, 30 March 1940; divorced, 19 November 1965;
three children.
Married Bobbie Lucile (Lisa) Thorman, 9 April 1968; until Noah’s death, 1 November 1994.

Noah Beery Jr. made his film debut at age 6 in The Mutiny of the Elsinore (1920) and appeared with his father in The Mark of Zorro (1920). His acting career accelerated in his late teens when he began appearing in sound films in the early 1930s.

Beery is best remembered today for playing Joseph ‘Rocky’ Rockford, the father of James Garner’s character, on the popular 1970s television series The Rockford Files. He continued his television work in the 1980s.
