Metro-Goldwyn Pictures Corporation production; distributed by Metro-Goldwyn Distributing Corporation. / Scenario by Dorothy Farnum, from the novel Tess of the D’Urbervilles by Thomas Hardy. / Standard 35mm spherical 1.33:1 format. / The capture sequence was shot at Stonehenge in Wiltshire, England. The film was previewed in Edendale, California. Two endings were shot with the intentions that exhibitors would be allowed to choose which ending they would show. Eventually, the film was released with the hanging ending as Hardy wrote it.
